Born on December 20, 1986, in Galesburg, Illinois, Andrew Eeten was nicknamed AJ during his school years. His academic journey at Eureka Schools was marked by excellence, culminating in his induction into the National Honor Society, an accolade that celebrates high academic achievers. In addition to his studies, he actively participated in sports, excelling in basketball and track. His athletic dedication was highlighted by his participation on the 1A state champion track team, a significant achievement in his early sports career.
Following high school, he was awarded a basketball scholarship to Illinois Central College (ICC), where he excelled in his studies and athletics. After a successful stint at ICC, he transferred to Northern Illinois University. There, he pursued a major in Physical Education with a minor in Spanish, expanding his academic horizons and cultural understanding.
After completing his higher education, Andrew embarked on a career in public education, where he served as a teacher and coach. He deeply valued the opportunity to influence young minds and help them grow academically and personally. Although he found this work rewarding, he was driven to explore new professional challenges and opportunities for growth.
In March 2017, Andrew made a pivotal career shift from education to retail, accepting a managerial position at a T-Mobile store in Washington, Illinois. His role involved overseeing the store’s daily operations, enhancing customer service strategies, and leading various store projects, including marketing initiatives and audits. This position marked the beginning of his impactful career in retail management.
His career continued to evolve in 2019 when he joined Stanton Optical in Peoria, Illinois, as a manager. This role allowed him to develop his eye care expertise further, assisting customers in selecting the most suitable eyewear and providing essential education on eyewear care. He was also responsible for managing inventory and overseeing customer orders, tasks that honed his organizational and customer service skills.
